THERAPY FOR COUPLES & FAMILIES

BEING IN PAIN ALONE IS DIFFICULT, BUT BEING IN PAIN TOGETHER CAN BE EXCRUCIATING.

When we feel like we’ve lost ourselves in a relationship, we often turn to critical forms of communication, destructive habits, and detached intimacy. These symptoms can manifest themselves in the form of fighting, setting unrealistic expectations, or making ultimatums that put the relationship in jeopardy. Patterns form and can lead to a complex web of resentment, guilt, anger and disappointment in what we once believed to be a perfect match. Eventually, the relationship can become so frustrating that we ask, “How did we get here?” and we wonder if it’s ever possible to find a way out.

I work with couples to untangle this web of emotions by transforming unhealthy or challenging relationship patterns into opportunities for improved communication. Couples work with me to build a safe space where they’re able to express themselves, find mutual respect, and explore the depths of the unconscious behavioral patterns that make up their relationship.

Together, we’ll travel through the difficult patterns in your relationship to arrive at a place of shared empathy, a way of being and feeling that can often relieve negative pressure on relationships. Our observations allow us to intervene on problems as they arise in the present, so that you and your partner can act with love, respect and admiration in the future.
